ok being nosy for a second so apologies if this question ages you: have you, personally, ever user a floppy disk before?
Yes, I have used a floppy disk before
No, I haven’t used a floppy disk before
Unsure/See Results
Tag your age if you wanna bc I was just thinking about how I have used floppy disks before (I’m 25 and used them in elementary computer lab) but my 22 y.o. brother hasn’t which is so weird to me like 3 years isn’t a long time at all to me

Imagine growing up in a literal warzone, your parents die, and you and your twin are kidnapped. But. But then, you could have claim to like rule over most elves in Middle Earth. But no. You go and build a homely house, and you heal people and let people rest. You have kids and adopt. And even after your wife dies, you’re still kind as summer. I am so totally normal about Elrond. No, I am not rolling around the couch crying

The Great Lakes and Saint Lawrence River superimposed on a map of Europe
…OH.
I googled it once and the only reason why the Great Lakes aren’t called inland seas is because they are entirely freshwater, not salt.
By any other metric they’d be seas. Superior especially (the big one in the upper left) behaves like a small ocean, and has claimed at least 250 ships and over 1000 people. Gordon Lightfoot wrote a frankly chilling song about her that I’ll include here:
Reblogging for the map as well as for Gordon Lightfoot.
